Our Recommendations
The Davis Democratic Club Board adopted the following recommendations at our May meeting earlier this month.
GOVERNOR
Over 60 candidates are competing for the nomination of just two
gubernatorial candidates for the November ballot. It is absolutely essential that at least one of those two must be a Democrat. The DDC Board recommends that you
pragmatically cast your vote for the person that you regard as being the strongest
Democratic candidate. We do not presume to know which of those candidates is
strongest and can only urge you to employ your best judgement in making this choice.
GREAT INCUMBENTS
In contrast to the gubernatorial race, the nomination and
reelection of many great Democratic incumbents present no-brainers. We are honored to be represented by Congressman Mike Thompson, who deserves our support and re-election. Following the passage of Proposition 50, Congressman John Garamendi will represent South Davis following this election and has historically supported the Davis Democratic Club. Similarly, Cecilia Aguiar-Curry has advanced to a well-deserved leadership position in the State Assembly. Jesse Salinas (County Clerk) has done outstanding work encouraging the participation of first-time voters. Lucas Frerichs (County Supervisor) has been there for us.
RYAN DAVIS FOR SUPERIOR COURT JUDGE
Ryan Davis is the only Democrat in the race for Yolo County Superior Court Judge and will bring a wealth of experience to the position. Mr. Davis is supported by the County and State Democratic Parties, local Democratic elected officials, over 50 judges from across the State of California, and the Davis Democratic Club Executive Board.
