Avoid the USPS — Hand Deliver Your Ballot
There is growing concern that mail-in ballots may not receive timely postmarks or delivery through the USPS. In California, mail is now routed through a limited number of regional processing hubs, and mail sent from more distant areas may not be postmarked until the following day.
Because ballots must be postmarked on time to count, delays in processing could create problems for voters.
The safest option is to hand deliver your ballot directly to a Vote Center on Election Day. A secure ballot drop box is another option, though personal delivery provides the greatest assurance your ballot is received on time.
