Davis Democratic Club Board Recommendations for June 2nd, 2026 Primary Election
The Davis Democratic Club Board adopted the following recommendations at our May meeting earlier this month.
The VERBS Fundraiser for Swing District Congressman Adam Gray (CA-13) on May 29th
Join Davis and Yolo County Democrats in supporting Adam Gray in his key re-election fight for California's 13th Congressional District.
How can California voters prevent a split vote that could result in two Republicans on the governor’s ballot?
Voting begins this week but does that mean we should rush to get our ballots returned ASAP? Perhaps not. The Governor’s race seems to be solidifying but there’s another debate this week and there are still too many candidates with active campaigns and no real chance to finish in the top two: Antonio Villaraigosa, Tony Thurmond and Matt Mahan.

Avoid the USPS — Hand Deliver Your Ballot
There is growing concern that mail-in ballots may not receive timely postmarks or delivery through the USPS. In California mail is now routed through a limited number of regional processing hubs, and mail sent from more distant areas may not be postmarked until the following day.
Because ballots must be postmarked on time in order to count, delays in processing could create problems for voters.

2026 California Primary Election
2026 primary elections are one of the simplest and most powerful ways to shape the future of our community. Primaries decide who makes it onto the ballot in November, which means your voice matters before the big election even begins.
By showing up and casting a vote, you help choose the leaders and ideas that best reflect your values, strengthen democracy, and keep our system accountable. If you want change—or want to protect what matters to you—this is where it starts.
Primary Election Date
June 2, 2026 — California’s statewide primary is conducted under the state’s nonpartisan “top‑two” system.
The slate of officers was elected with 18 people in attendance at the meeting in person and via Zoom. There were no nominations from the floor.
